DNA tests being done to ID body found in Albany-area woods Associated Press - April 3, 2008 7:05 AM ET ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say DNA evidence is being used to determine the identity of a woman's decapitated and badly decomposed body was found in a wooded area in suburban Albany. Authorities say the body found Tuesday afternoon in Menands, just north of Albany, was that of a woman whose head, hands and feet were missing. The remains were found wrapped in plastic in a patch of woods in a residential area. Residents of nearby homes say they had been aware of the plastic bag in the woods for a month or two but thought it was garbage. The Albany County coroner says it will take 10 to 12 days until DNA tests on the remains are final.
