Woman's body found floating in bay UNION-TRIBUNE 9:41 a.m. March 28, 2006 SAN DIEGO – The body of a woman was found floating in the water off the southern tip of South Embarcadero Park Tuesday morning by a worker who was dredging the bay, authorities said. The body was discovered around 6:40 a.m. by the worker, who was riding in a dredging boat, just off the rocky shore, said Port District spokeswoman Irene McCormack. Information sought about dead woman EMBARCADERO PARK – The county Medical Examiner's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose body was found in San Diego Bay on Tuesday. She appeared to be a light-skinned Latina in her late 40s to late 50s with shoulder-length, dyed black hair. She was 5 feet 2 inches and weighed about 140 pounds. The woman had faint scars on her left forearm and left knee, and her right ear was double-pierced. She was wearing two long-sleeve turtleneck sweaters, one black and one red; black stretch pants; and a navy blue long-sleeve, hooded zipper jacket. Authorities said the cause of death was drowning.
