Working To Protect Your Children John Walsh has been fighting for justice for more than 25 years. You know about his efforts on television, but he's proudest of his work in helping pass laws to protect children. Last September, "The Children's Safety Act," which is designed to improve sex offender registration and monitoring, passed in the House, but was bogged down by an unrelated amendment in the Senate. Now, with the backing of Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, John joined other grieving parents on the Hill Tuesday to lobby support for the revised "Children's Safety Act" introduced in December. This is some of the most important legislation being debated in the halls of Congress because of the sexual assaults and murders of children and teens in the past few years. We must prevent what happened to children like Jessica Lunsford, Shasta and Dylan Groene and, of course, Adam Walsh from ever happening to another child.
