AMBER Alert Issued for 2 Year Old Colorado Boy

The State of Colorado issued the Amber Alert early Saturday morning (05-23) after the boy's parents failed to show up for a court appearance in Colorado Springs on Thursday. Custody of the boy was transferred to the state of Colorado due to allegations of child abuse. The boy requires medical attention due to sever burns he suffered in April to his hands. Police believe the suspects may be headed to Mexico with the boy.

Emanuel Guzman a 2 year old Hispanic male, 2', 30 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

There are two suspects. Carmen Aguilera is a 30 year old Hispanic female, 5' 6", 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Benito Guzman is a 29 year old Hispanic male, 5' 8", 180 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and has a mustache.

There are two possible suspect vehicles, a tan 2004 Ford pickup with Colorado tag number 491-SKZ or a brown 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado tag number 781-SLH.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert Saturday morning for a missing 1-year-old boy allegedly taken by his parents after they were accused of abusing and burning him. Police believe the parents of Emanuel Guzman were attempting to flee to Mexico.

Carmen Aguilera and Benito Guzman, according to Colorado Springs, failed to appear in court on May 21st on felony child abuse charges. Custody of their son was then transferred to the Department of Human Services.

Police said Carmen Aguilera, 30, was last seen driving a brown Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Colorado plate 781 SLH. Guzman, 29, was driving an unspecified Ford vehicle with a Colorado plate 491 SKZ.

Emanuel is 2 feet tall and weighs approximately 30 lbs. He is considered endangered as he requires medical care for severe burns he suffered in April, police said.

Colorado Springs police issued an amber alert this weekend for 23 month-old Emanuel Guzman.

Police say a 23 month old child may be in danger. They say Emanuel Guzman, who needs medical care because of severe burns, may be on his way to Mexico with his parents.

Guzman suffered severe burns to his hands in April. The El Paso County Department of Human Services currently has a court order to take protective custody of him.

His father, Benito Guzman, is described as a Hispanic male, 29 years old, 5'8" tall, 180 lbs, black hair and brown eyes.

His mother, Carmen Aguilera, is described as a Hispanic female, 30 years old, 5'6" tall, 130 lbs, black hair and brown eyes.

Emanuel Guzman is 2' tall, 30 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has burns on both of his hands.

His parents may be driving a 2004 Ford pick-up, tan in color with Colorado license plate #491SKZ or a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, brown in color with Colorado license plate #781SLH.

Circumstances: UPDATE AMBER ALERT - Photos added The suspects are wanted by the Colorado Springs Police Department for felony child abuse.
