Clay County Man Accused Of Molesting Girl For 7 Years

A 70-year-old Green Cove Springs man was arrested Wednesday, accused of sexually molesting a young girl nearly four decades ago.
Robert Jeannin is charged with capital sexual battery for allegedly abusing a girl for seven years, beginning when the girl was 7 years old.
Jeannin was originally questioned back in 1987, but the alleged victim told authorities she was not mentally ready to testify at that time.
On Tuesday, a Clay County special victims unit detective interviewed Jeannin about previous statements he made admitting to molesting the girl between 1969 and 1975.
"I'm going to get in trouble for this," the arrest report quotes Jeannin. "I don't want to say anything that might incriminate myself."
The suspect was already on probation after a 2002 conviction for lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim under 15.
